THE SHOW!

Some LGBTQ people like to garden. Some like to dance. Others like to fly airplanes, draw, paint, run, fish, hunt, read, act, sing, bowl or build sheds. Some LGBTQ people are astronauts. Some are firefighters, grocers, contractors, activists, plumbers, students, musicians, policy makers, bakers, writers, accountants or zookeepers.

You know gay people. You know trans people. You know bi people and lesbian people. You might just not know that you know them. You know?

Out and About introduces you to your LGBTQ friends, neighbors and allies through their stories, their art, their creations and their work.

The world seems to have become more divisive and angry. Lies are often embraced for a fleeting comfort. Join me, Captain Maeve, for Out and About every Tuesday at 4 pm. Fueled by truth, unity and good cheer, we’ll set a course for inclusion and hope.

If you’re out, what are you about? Let’s thrive together.

No guest today. Instead, I played music to celebrate the Trans Day of Visibility, observed every year on March 31. This also coincided with the date of Easter this year, and caused a big uproar amongst Trump cultmembers. I addressed the racism and overall pitiful people in the pickup trucks who harassed the black female […] […]
A very rollicking conversation with friends from Sipping and Sonnets (sometimes referred to as Drunk Shakespeare) – Skyler Moeder, Preston Loomer, Bee Aaron and Cord Aaron. This is a fundraiser for Stage Left Theater in conjunction with PRIDE SPOKANE. We talked about the event and what kind of crazy stuff has happened to each of […] […]

A very interesting and informative conversation with Jeff Ferguson – climate activist, Spokane Tribal member, photographer/videographer, Executive Director of Elk Soup, and, organizer for the Expo74 50-year anniversary celebration. We could have talked a lot longer! […]
A great conversation with folks from Bright Comet’s Hamlet – Taylor Cummings (Hamlet) and Elisheva Miller(Ophelia) and director Dominique Betz plus a little Hamlet music. We discussed what Shakespeare’s Hamlet has to say about the world we live in today, and transcending traditional casting in ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation. […]
Listen to the show here! An interview with cast, crew and director of SFCC’s Charlotte’s Web.
