Do you belong to a fandom? Chances are that, in some way or another, you do. Fandoms are communities that people build around a shared passion for a common interest- whether it be sports, music, films, literature, video games and more, and our modern world is full of them! Beyond being an outlet for us to geek out over our favorite book characters or TV series, fandoms contribute to our sense of identity and community, and they can make a lasting impact on society. That said, not all fandoms are created equal, and while some fandoms are very positive, others can become hotbeds for negativity and problematic behavior. On the show, I share my takes on some of the most popular fandoms of today.
