Loneliness has become a real problem in the US (and many other industrialized nations). So much so that the US Surgeon General published an 80+ page report on the loneliness and social isolation phenomenon, which is now labeled as an epidemic. So what’s going on? Why do so many Americans feel so isolated, and what’s the price? The answer to the latter question is jarring. What this means for those of us who’ve felt the effects of this reality is the topic of today’s discussion.
