Out and About had folks on from Stage Left’s show How I Learned to Drive.
Actors Lisa Edwards, Rebecca Craven, Jeffrey St. George, Jennie Oliver and the director Susan Hardie were in the studio. I felt so at home with all of them, as we have all been in each other’s orbits for so much time. It felt like having family over for a nice visit. And that was good because the talk was about the play which deals with some very uncomfortable subjects.
This theatrical work deals honestly with the subjects of incest and pedophilia and the effects that objectifying others, especially in families, has on the formation of people. We also discussed the reality that this horrible situation has on our society. We talked about how people that we love and respect can also do despicable things to others.
The cast performed two scenes from the show. It is really worth listening to and very much worth seeing the play at Stage Left.
