No guest today. I had you, the lovely listener, to myself. Well, I did share you with Wendy Carlos and DEVO. After a trip to Portland, where I picked up a couple of records (one which was super rare) and books on creativity at Everyday Music and Powells, I was anxious to share them with you! I talked about Wendy Carlos, a trans woman, who helped create the Moog synthesizer and who composed a lot of music you would be familiar with (Clockwork Orange, The Shining). I played music of hers that you may not have heard before. I connected the dots with DEVO’s EZ listening Muzak album which was one of my rare finds in Portland. Talked about why it is important to create, and how LGBT people and their creations have helped others create. I guess you could say if you (a kind person) creates, it could be seen as a Duty Now for the Future!
