First show in the new studio! I didn’t have a guest today because I was nervous that I would be flummoxed by not having used all the new stuff in the new studio. So, what I did was this…
At the beginning of each 20 minute segment, I presented a news story (culled from Reuters) regarding LGBT stuff – 1. Putin’s escalation of persecution of LGBT folks in Russia. 2. Pending congressional approval to codify same-sex marriages in the USA. 3. Case before the Supreme Court weighing another possible religious exemption from having to provide goods or services to LGBT people. There was some editorializing on my behalf.
Also in the three 20 minute-ish segments, I played a speech I made back in June to the INBA Outreach Pride Breakfast. Huzzah!
Jim Hightower started about two minutes early, so he was cut off.
I also lamented that I would no longer be seeing Texas Jim from Americana Avenue at shift change because he is going to a new time slot. This is a bummer. I don’t know who, if anyone, will be there before I arrive.
All in all, things went pretty smooth for a first show in the new studio and I am ready for guests!!!
