I’m wondering what song played directly before Sarah Cripps leave behind. It was a female singer, ethereal vibe, around 1:30 pm Thursday Dec 12
    Thanks, great show.

This is a little late but around 2:27 pm on Sunday Feb 9th. Fast-ish tempo, sounded punk, male vocalist. I think it was between an LGBT program bumper and an internship announcement.

If it helps, I think some of the lyrics might have been “storm the beaches” and “dance to the people that wanna (find? fight?) god”.

OK, I believe the song you are interested in is from a Japanese Punk-Rock band called 奏人心 (Soutosin). The name of the track is Spark, released as a single in 2024. It’s not widely available, but I did find it on You Tube and Apple Music. Thanks for your interest and keep listening to KYRS!!

            Yes Melissa
That is Steve Earle’s song “Waitin’ On The Sky” (Sitting on top of the world is the repeated line in the third verse).
It can be found on his album “I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive” which was released in 2011.
Glad you enjoyed it and keep listening to KYRS!

Hi Geoff! The track is called “Cogelo con Calma” by an artist called La Dame Blanche. Interestingly, she is the daughter of the former trombonist/ music director of the famous old Buena Vista Social Club orchestra… born in Cuba but has lived and worked for many years in France.
Glad you enjoyed the song and keep listening to KYRS!!!

Hey Craig, good morning to you!
Can you tell me what song played around 10:25 am? It had a slavic sound to it and I think ended with some church bells of some sort.

    Thank you!

Hello! I heard a rap song with English and Japanese lyrics, with a main chorus of “baka, baka dayo, bakayaro, bakamono” (stupid, stupid!, bastard, stupids?), made me laugh and also slaps, I thought google would help with lyrics that distinct but no luck

      Hello ness!
You didn’t mention when you heard it, but I’m guessing it was this one:
Artist: Shao Dow (He is English but taught himself Japanese so he could rap in that language)
      Song: BAKA 馬鹿 (ft. TOPHAMHAT-KYO)
Album: Welcome to the Shao (2025 release)
Hope this helps and keep listening to KYRS!!

    Hi Craig,
There was a song that played around 9:50 last night (10/6/25). It was a woman singing to her love…lyrics like “I’m a ghost” “casting only good spells on you” “my heart is a river that runs deep” . The melody and ending were so beautiful. I keep google searching all the lyrics I can remember but have not found it.
    Thank you

    Hi Craig,

I was wondering what played after Malibu Man by Dan Auerbach at around 2:10 am on December 7th. There was an advertisement between Malibu Man and the song Im wondering about. To be honest it was quite strange, I don’t think there were any words. It sounded like steel drum and piano. It was on 88.1 Mhz if that matters.
    Thanks, Jamie.

Good morning Jamie, just logged on and saw this.
That very experimental track is called “Congregate” by Forest Swords (AKA music producer Matthew Barnes), and was released as a single in 2017.
I’m glad it got your attention and keep listening to KYRS!!!

Great show tonight! Especially curious, what was the song that was playing when there were 53 minutes remaining? Female vocalist, wasn’t even sure what language it was, but so pretty! And the Minimalist-y one after it was really fun.

      Hi Melody
I believe the track you are asking about is called Jarðartrá by Eivør. She is from the Faroe Islands and her album Enn which came out in 2024 is excellent.
The track that followed is by bassist Rich Brown called Kalagala Ebwembe. On his 2025 album Nyaeba he overdubbed all the music; and people think a solo bass album can’t be interesting!
Glad you enjoyed the program and keep listening to KYRS!!

      Hi Xóchitl
If you are referring to the a cappella song that played just before the hour, that is by Alex Duncan. He is a musician from the island of St. Kitts and the song “No More Trouble” is actually a cover of a song by Bob Marley and the Wailers. I did a little research and cannot find the source of the a cappella version but there are some remixes on YouTube.
The only other song in that time frame is On My Way by Mahalia Jackson
Hope this helps and keep listening to KYRS!!!
