Hi, this is Craig from Global Odyssey and I can help you with this one! That was a cover of course of Paint it Black by the Spanish band Azucar Moreno which appeared on their 1991 album Moreno. Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi! I’ve been listening on 2/7/24 since about midnight or so? What’s the best way for me to find out more about the song artists and titles? I love everything I’m hearing, and know absolutely none of it! I’m living my Sarah-Dessen-Teen-Novel public radio dreams, and honestly just couldn’t be happier lol. Would shazam work? Is the music local, or a mix of all sorts of stuff? It’s my first time listening! I learned KYRS existed from attending Stephen Pitters’ poetry event at Spark, and I’m so glad I did! One song in particular, lyrics were something like “I’m alright with you living your good life…” “Tell me mama tell me bout god and money…” But I like them all! And as a side question: what’s the best way to tune in on mobile? Thank you in advance for any help! đ

When you are listening at times (such as late at night) when there is no live DJ and no updated announcements or playlists then Shazam will work on (virtually) anything you hear on air. The music playing at such times is a blend of all genres and all locations and will typically me a mix of known and obscure artists, etc.
Streaming our feed on your mobile is simple, just go to the website (KYRS.org) and on the right side of the front page is an icon which says “Listen Now”; just click on that and start listening.
Another way you might enjoy KYRS is by listening to recent shows on demand via the archive section. If you start at the top of the KYRS front page and click Programming=>Program schedule you can look through all of our programs and find a few that you might find interesting. Then go back to the front page. There is an icon a little below the “Listen Now” button which will take you to the archive section. Find the program you would like to hear based on name or day of week and start listening.
