This show examines the ways in which the US continues to act in the model of classic empires to the detriment of the world and this country. This requires a generally well-regimented and controlled media system to ensure that the “correct” opinions and information are conveyed to the citizenry. This relies on both the creation of a mythic past and the continued assertion of the myths of US exceptionalism. The writing of Johan Galtung are explored in relation to his assertions that the US will diminish greatly in power under the Trump presidency in the near future.
