Playlist for Show: Long Waves

I examine the necessity for social and political theory in understanding world events. Politics and the language of the public sphere are routinely distorted, manipulated, and bent to serve the interests of power. The division of people along the lines of race, gender, sex, and wealth drives most of the media in the US and all of the news. Race, paternalism, anger, narcissism are presented as causes for social events, but the first cause is never explored.

From these premises, I proceed to produce analyses of the rise of Theresa May, AKA “Ms. Thatcher’s Horcrux,” and her actions to divide Britain along ethnic and religious lines.

A comparison to US identity politics is also raised.
