Playlist for Show: So Did You Hear?

We’re all a little bit ADHD. I thought ADHD affected kids, not adults. You shouldn’t have problems with if you’re on meds, right? People with ADHD don’t do well in school. More boys have ADHD than girls. ADHD is about fidgeting and not being able to focus.

If you’ve ever heard ADHD mentioned in a conversation or even the media, chances are you’ve probably heard at least one of these statements if not something similar. Troublingly, none of these statements reflect the facts. Millions of people in the US alone live with ADHD, and while it is a commonly occurring neurological conditions, it is also one of the most commonly misunderstood.  This week, Federica delves into myths and facts about ADHD and theories about why the disorder is so poorly understood. Federica also shared her personal experience of being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and reflects on how misinformation about the condition creates additional challenges for individuals living with adult ADHD.
