We’ve all heard countless conversations, rants, and complaints about how the US healthcare model is broken and in need of reform. Past administrations tried their hand at implementing reform, with very mixed results- and even so, it appears that changes to the system still move at a crawling pace at best while the shortcomings of the system deeply affect Americans’ lives. Some community members are now taking matters in their own hands. Federica talks with Huckleberry Palmer, volunteer at the statewide non-profit Whole Washington to discuss how advocates healthcare reform came together to initiate a petition to implement universal healthcare in Washington State, and what a future with universal healthcare may look like for us all.
