No guest today. Instead, I played some music and talked about some current events – new anti-trans, moral panic laws in North Dakota to feed the fascist monster, a school board member in Oklahoma who is resigning and moving out of state because her daughter is trans and will not be safe in the state anymore due to their new pro-fascist, anti-trans laws. Talked about how we shouldn’t feed the fascist monster our fear, anger or sadness because the base that is the fascist monster gets off on it. Talked about what I learned in Sunday School when I was a kid, namely that being “anti-woke” is being “anti-Christ.” Talked about a black man who befriended Ku Klux Klan members and because of his friendship, they gave up their Klan membership and donated their robes (100s of them) to him. Talked about how entertainers are publicly challenging Tennessee’s anti-drag laws by performing in drag. Stressed the importance of being out (if you are safe to do so). The only way LGBT people can safeguard their rights is to be visible and not a hypothetical.
