Talked with Michelle Grove and Julie Griffith from STIX Diabetes Programs. Michelle is the President of the Board and Julie is the Executive Director (and my sister – nonexecutive sister). We talked about the work STIX does in the community for kids living with diabetes and their parents, how people can get involved and the signs and symptoms to look for if you suspect your child might be diabetic. I learned a great new term for kids with diabetes who become friends at one of STIX’s camps – “Diabesties.” How great is that? Of course I had to play some music from the band STYX because I had to. I mean – come on.
