I recorded this telephone interview with Andrew Levitt last week. Andrew is playing Edna Turnblad in HAIRSPRAY. HAIRSPRAY opens this week as part of STCU’s Best of Broadway series. We talked about his drag work as Nina West, LGBTQ issues, how Andrew got started, Dragging the Classics BRADY BUNCH (YAY!), this production of HAIRSPRAY and the challenges and delights of playing Edna! I was silly nervous.
