This show highlighted my failure in getting people to tell me their New Year’s resolutions. I talked a lot about the collective will of people who are joined in the bonds of resolve and how that could be a good thing or a bad thing. I stated that no one would remember me after I died. I said this in a celebratory fashion, although I was told by some that it sounded depressing. I was trying to underscore that our best accomplishments may be more anonymous in nature. Which, really, kind of takes the pressure off. There were a lot of good songs played. I stated that I was working on a Jim Hightower impersonation but that it was not ready to be revealed… yet. All of this in less than 55 minutes. I inspired myself.
