Could climate change and the lack of sustainability for our planet be a direct result of Inadequate Building Codes? As we see time and again the devastation around the world due to so-called “Natural Disasters.” Can we continue to blame nature when we continue to build against Nature’s Natural Flow? As square structures are unconducive to our planet and are not found in nature can we continue to blame nature for destroying something unnatural and foreign to the planet we occupy? ARCH.E.A.S.T. LLC feels we can prove that Inadequate Building Codes is the primary reason why we have climate change issues, over contamination as well as the severe strain on our natural resources, and extreme weather worldwide.
Worldwide Building Code Reform is a must to bring about true sustainability in our world and reverse the climate change effects we now see today. Building codes that address “EVERYTHING MANMADE” and not just structural design of buildings and products. Where anything that we build, create, harvest, extract, mine, refine and/or it’s by-product cannot have “ANY” side effect that goes against the natural order of our planet and or jeopardize any life form of this planet and any that did would be deemed illegal and banned.
How many ways can one say “Building codes reform” is a must. That all the “Bio Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Permaculture Intervention, Green Buildings, Wind Generators, Solar Arrays, and Hydro Generators” will be all for nothing if we do not confront “Building Code Reform” worldwide.
As long as we continue to Build-up, Board up, Teardown, Rebuild and do not address “Building Code Reform”, you have to ask yourself;
How can bioengineers work to heal our world if they are always working to solve the newest disaster and not continuing their studies on earth recovery?
What use is studying the environment and environmental engineering just to watch it become extinct?
Where can the Permaculturist plant if the seeds, air, soil, and water are unsafe due to contaminants and what is not contaminated they must pay for?
How can we call a building “Green” for our communities if it can still succumb to nature’s natural flow and become a bio hazard to the surrounding environment?
What of the wind generators’ kill rate to our bird life, or the carnage it will leave after a tornado or earthquake if they fall or the blades break free?
And are we really ready for tornados filled with fine shards of glass and mirrors?
Is it not bad enough that 1000s of birds and insects die flying over the solar arrays or that we are supper heating the atmosphere with said mirrors?
Hydro Generators are by far the best solution of this list yet can’t they too pose a threat to our environment as they can be affected by hurricanes, water spouts, and what of their effects on ocean wildlife and their migration patterns?
* A future where homes that are not built to flow with nature have disaster shelters in their backyard like the “Life Podd Systems” stage one shelter so no longer do folk die from trying to evacuate, drowning, or flying debris.
These are all quick fixes for long term issues, none address the long term global issues of “Destruction, devastation, delay, decay, denial, discord, and death” due to inadequate building code worldwide, yet all are related to and fall under present day and future building codes.
Now let us consider a future with Building Code Reform in place
Where all new construction demands you take into account the Natural Disaster Environmental History of the region before you build anew
That the structure is self-sustaining in-of itself
Collecting its own water supply from dew and rain water, harnessing the sun and wind for electric power and heating and cooling
Where every structure built must have an atrium with an inner garden/yard to clean the gray and brown water produced by occupants
Where nothing on the outside of the structure can be grabbed, pulled, or broke off by wind or water
Building designs taking into account Nature’s Natural Designs, like eggs, nuts, shells, rocks, birds nest and so forth
The introduction of “Saddleback Foundation System” (One foundation saddled in another) to gather flood water and protect from earthquakes
These future communities and their infrastructure would have the opportunity to truly be sustainable.
I cannot say it enough, “We can no longer ignore the fact that Inadequate Building Codes are a major issue that needs to be addressed before we can truly have Sustainability in our world.” With rising insurance industry & construction materials cost across the board, the strain on our natural resources, environmental contamination, water quality concerns around the world are more than alarming, carbon monoxide level from disaster cleanup, the rebuild, and toxic waste dumped is barley being tracked, then the loss of civil liberties, death, decay and destruction, an average 300k killed & 900k displaced each year is more than enough proof we need to act. Would building codes be made to address and encompass anything that we build, create, harvest, extract, mine, refine and/or it’s by-product, by saying “IT” cannot have “ANY” side effect that goes against the natural order of our planet and or jeopardize any life form of this planet and would be deemed illegal and banned, could we not have a better chance of success?
