About the Show

Have you worn out your playlists? Smoothed the grooves of your vinyl? Find yourself aimlessly pressing “shuffle,” looking for something new to listen to? Your favorite artist hasn’t put out an album since 2003, and can safely be presumed to be defunct, as evidenced by their Myspace post stating “We are definitely broken up as a band and we are definitely not touring again, we have collectively decided to be accountants,” leaving you with three pristine albums with their distinct sound, the First-Hearing High from which you have been fruitlessly chasing down the halls of Bandcamp ever since?

If this sounds like you, then you may be a musical nomad. Don’t worry. So am I.

Presenting: Flavor of the Week! A musical variety show where each week, you’re taken on an exploration through a different style of music. Whether it’s punk, psychadelia, dubstep, reggae, mid-2000s adult contemporary, indigenous Pueblo songs, shoegaze, Louisiana blues, drone metal, Igbo rap, indie rock, folk rock, swamp rock, symphonic rock, or good old fashioned free jazz, there’s bound to be something that causes you to satisfy your craving for a new sound. And who knows? This week, you might find your new favorite flavor.

Tune in Sunday from 4PM to 6PM Pacific for Flavor of the Week, only on KYRS 88.1 and 92.3 FM, Medical Lake and Spokane. See you then!
