Date: October 5, 2024
Join us at the Fall Fest Artist Fair to tell visitors about Thin Air Community Radio and hand out program schedules. We will be participating in a raffle involving scarecrows (see below). It will be great fun promoting the arts and KYRS.
Scarecrow Contest: The park owns four scarecrows
that it will display throughout the park, and her idea is to decorate
the scarecrows with the letters K, Y, R, and S, and announce that people
can enter a raffle by voting on which scarecrow is their favorite. The
raffle tickets would be provided by Riverfront and distributed at the
KYRS booth. People would come to our booth, take a ticket, and dispense
the ticket in a jar near their favorite scarecrow to “enter” the raffle,
and the winner would be announced near the end of the day by an emcee.
Kearney said that they already have prizes, and KYRS’s involvement is
really just handing out the tickets/providing instructions on entering
the raffle to those who approach.
