Today we had a great conversation with Shamerica Daniels who is the site coordinator at North Central High School for Communities in schools Spokane county. Shamerica works to surround students with a community of support empowering these students to stay in school and achieve what they need to in life. Seeing a lot of impoverished students, and having a first hand of what poverty looks like from the eyes of a child. We had talked about what she does specifically in this job. We also touched briefly on protocol concerning LGBTQ at risk students, and a number of programs that not only help students stay in school, but feeds and clothes students deemed at risk.
