In this episode we talk with Sara Jenkins, a GIS Specialist from the University of British Columbia about crisis mapping. Sara volunteers with an aid group called Standby Task Force (you can too! Check out how you can become a part of crowd sourcing and crisis mapping:http://www.standbytaskforce.org/) that helps live map crisis struck areas to assist aid groups in deploying emergency services. She’s a mapping Ninja, so says Patrick Meier, the founder of the standby task force and, dare I say, father of crisis mapping!
This is a continuation of last week’s interview and includes a few clips of Patrick Meier talking about the evolution of crisis mapping.
