Today’s topics were the historic and ongoing impacts of racial injustice regarding mass incarceration, restorative vs punitive practices, the school to prison pipeline, and the prison industrial complex. We were joined in-studio by Devon Wilson, Center for Justice board member and Chair of the Spokane NAACP Criminal Justice Committee; Layne Pavey, a licensed clinical social worker, and founder and Organization Director of the grassroots group I Did The Time; along with Kurtis Robinson, President of the Spokane Chapter of the NAACP, the AOWSAC Criminal Justice Chair, who also serves on the Spokane Regional Law and Justice Council‘s Racial Equity Committee.
