Playlist for Show: Long Waves

A kind of infantile ideation underpins the basic ideas of fascism. Force, violence, extreme masculinity, and extreme hatred of weakness in all forms suggests that much of the emotive force driving fascism is compensatory of feelings of insecurity and a basic distrust of people who seem to be other. This show explores how compensation for these feelings and an inability to see one’s own weakness and emotional suppression in the face of the other destroys the ability of fascists to recognize community.
