SUMMARY:KYRS presents: Silent Comedy at The Pin
DESCRIPTION:KYRS Presents: \nSilent Comedy \nplus guests \nApril 9th 8pm at The Pin — 412 W. SPRAGUE AVE \nTickets at kyrs.org or call 747-3012 \n$10 All ages. Bar for 21+ \nThe Silent Comedy is a San Diego-based rock band\, with a touch of folk and Americana \nhttp://www.thesilentcomedy.com/ \nhttps://www.facebook.com/SilentComedyMusic \n  \nThe Silent Comedy is a San Diego-based group of musicians mixing Americana\, Folk and Rock n’ Roll into a sound that is best understood by experiencing their live show.  Brothers Joshua and Jeremiah Zimmerman started the band to capture the feeling of the bar culture they worked in and the revival meetings they grew up attending. The outcome is an experience that has been described as “a whiskey fueled tent revival.” \nThe Silent Comedy took to the road immediately after their first show and have continued to build on that tradition. The brothers’ father was  a preacher who sold everything the family owned to travel the world\, an experience that shapes the lyrics and DIY ethic of the group. The band is made up of Joshua (bass/vocals) and Jeremiah Zimmerman (keys\, vocals\, guitar) together with their cousin Chad Lee (drums) and long time friend Justin Buchanan (mandolin/banjo). The band has roots in the craft beer and cocktail scene in California that have added to the rowdy reputation of their live shows. What started as a loyal base of bartenders and beer brewers has grown to a community of dedicated fans all over the world. \nThe band recently worked with Dave Matthews Band’s Boyd Tinsley on an improvisational film/music project entitled “Faces in the Mirror.” This led to The Silent Comedy opening for DMB at The Gorge in Washington state in 2011 and 2012. \nThrough placement in projects such as Hatfields & McCoys\, starring Kevin Costner\, and the History Channel’s original series The Men Who Built America (to name a few)\, The Silent Comedy has been able to reach an even larger audience that is growing with each shot of whiskey. \nThe Silent Comedy’s new EP\, Friends Divide\, is available on iTunes now.

SUMMARY:Wild Rabbit Benefit Concert
DESCRIPTION:KYRS Benefit Concert\n$8 advance and $10 day of show\nAdvance tickets available here\nDoors at 7\, show at 8:00pm – 11:30pm\nThe Big Dipper 171 S Washington \nWild Rabbit (formerly Br’er Rabbit) comes to Spokane for a benefit show at the Big Dipper\, with guests the Brown’s Mountain Boys \nThough all four members of Wild Rabbit (formerly Br’er Rabbit) grew up running around wooded areas of the same small town in the farthest Northwest corner of Washington state\, brothers Zach and Nathan didn’t meet Miranda\, the third founding member\, until they had all ended up in New York City. This kind of backyard folk seasoned by the edge\, polish and fervor of big-city inclinations is at the root of the style they call folk-stomp Americana. The group revamps classic string band instrumentation with homespun percussion and the unique integration of six-string ukulele and cello. With their widely varying influences\, three distinct vocal styles and copious amounts of foot-stomping\, they demonstrate a sound and presence that’s at once original and familiar\, appealing to audiences of all generations and genres. Voted best band in their home city of Bellingham\, WA for the last two years\, they have quickly risen to local renown and are currently touring extensively throughout the U.S. The band recently recorded their first full-length album at the famed Bear Creek Studio (The Lumineers\, Fleet Foxes)\, partially funded by Kickstarter campaign and released independently in March 2014. The Wild North\, having debuted on the CMJ Top 200 chart for independent radio nationwide\, is available now on iTunes\, Spotify\, and at wildrabbitmusic.com. \nThe Brown’s Mountain Boys is a Spokane Bluegrass and Americana group with outstanding seasoned professionals who have an extensive repertoire of original music\, the best of familiar Bluegrass songs\, as well as modern material. BMB will get you laughing\, clapping\, tapping your feet\, and dancing to the music! \nJoin KYRS for a night of backyard folk and foot-stomping fun February 6th! \nGet tickets at the link above.
