October 26th, 2003 marked a pivotal moment for Spokane. It’s the year a passionate group of volunteers and supporters brought KYRS Thin Air Community Radio to life. For 21 years, we’ve been the heartbeat of your local airwaves, amplifying the voices, music, and stories of our community. Now, it’s time to celebrate the journey!

You’re invited to join the KYRS family—staff, programmers, board members, volunteers, and listeners both old and new—as we throw an unforgettable party to commemorate our 21st anniversary. Get ready for a free evening of music, dancing, history, and, most of all, a celebration of the love and connection we share.

Music Lineup:

Matt Mitchell Music Company: Imagine the raw energy of rootsy Americana, seasoned with crunchy blues and old-school country. If ‘The Band’ took a road trip to Laurel Canyon, only to pick up John Prine hitchhiking along the Pacific Coast, their jam session would sound something like this. It’s music that grooves, soothes, and moves you.

Little Gospel Devils: A Spokane-born garage rock trio that conjures the spirits of rock legends—think The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Doors, and Led Zeppelin. Their sound is raw, mischievous, and unapologetic, yet sincere and full of heart. With their electrifying stage presence, they’ll break down walls, smash self-doubt, and have you twisting, shouting, and hugging the stranger next to you.

This is a night for everyone who believes in the power of community radio. Let’s make memories, dance like no one’s watching, and toast to another 21 years of being Spokane’s voice.

Date: October 26th
Time: 7PM
Location: nxʷyxʷyetkʷ Hall (3rd floor), Spokane Central Library, 906 West Main

Hi, I have attended recent Get Loud in the Library concerts – great events! And I plan to attend the October 26 party as well. One recommendation I want to make is that whoever is over the bar, please ensure the Grain Shed beer is COLD at the start of the concert. At the two recent events I attended, the beer was anything but cold. Cold beer will promote more sales! 🙂 Thanks!

We hear you, Randy! We have been working on getting the beer into the refrigerator earlier and earlier on the day of the concert. Getting used to the capabilities of the equipment here at the library has been a learning curve, but we are cracking the code. I think that you will be pleased with your next beer here. Looking forward to seeing you on the 26th!
