We spoke with local artist Kurt Madison ( Float, Saranac Art Projects ) and Keegan Adams ( The Work of Keegan Adams, Richmond Gallery ) Kurt Madison, one of the Saranac Art Project members and an SFCC instructor, is helping to develop and install “Float:” A collection of art work that aims to include the viewer into the process of creating and seeks ways to create a shift in how reality is perceived by Swedish artist duo Anna Sörenson and Daniel Rydh. This is a collaboration between Laboratory and Saranac Art Project.
Richmond Gallery is proud to host printmaker and former Spokanite Keegan Adams (Cleveland, OH) for First Friday in April! “My work is an investigation into my family history, my Shawnee Native American heritage, and my existence with Type-1 Diabetes. Much of what has conditioned my life is largely enigmatic to me. Through my work, I exhibit what I’ve come to feel about these forces. This is an evolving process of discovery, understanding, and growth. I have been collaborating with my nephew, Kaden, who is 5 years old, to add a new chapter to my process. Now, there is another family member to bring moments of contemplation. His marks act as a counterpoint to my imagery, bringing into focus the change from childhood to adulthood. Our collaboration takes the work both to a lighter and deeper place.”
