Laura and Mike interviewed Nick Jeffries, the Wildland Resource Planner for the City of Spokane and local historian and author Jack Nisbet. We  talked about wildfire, Ponderosa Pine forests and the history and culture of wildfire in the region. We discussed recent effort to thin overly dense forests in the wildland urban interface as well as the historical wide open Ponderosa pine forest that Spokane was build on, and how it was maintained by Indigenous fire.  We did a two hour show and five station ID’s, the first one at noon.
