The BoyZ will be talking to both Chief of Police and Spokane Police Department Community, Youth & Intervention Services today in studio to talk about how the Spokane Policy are reaching out to the community as a whole, but are here today to let the LGBTQA community they are working to better understand and help those in need.

Let me introduce :

FRANK STRAUB, Ph.D.

 Frank Straub is the Chief of the Spokane Police Department. Spokane is the second largest city in the State of Washington and serves a community of 210,000 residents. During his tenure, the SPD has dramatically reduced serious crime, the use of force by its officers, expanded community policing initiatives, and is implementing a department-wide body worn camera program.

Chief Straub served as the Public Safety Director in Indianapolis; the Public Safety Commissioner in White Plains, New York; the Deputy Commissioner of Training for the New York City Police Department; and as a federal agent during his 30 year law enforcement career.

Chief Straub holds a BA in Psychology from St. John’s University, a MA in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the City University of New York.

Tracie Meidl

Tracie Meidl is a lieutenant with the Spokane Police Department, where she has spent the past 21 years. Over her career, she has as worked as a patrol officer, field training officer, narcotics K9 officer, corporal, sergeant, and lieutenant. She currently oversees the Community, Youth, and Intervention Services, Volunteer Services and Community Outreach Units.
