Permanent Daylight Savings times have become more realistic with a bill that was recently passed by the Senate. If the bill is passed by House of Representatives its will move to Governor Inslee’s desk. If bill is approved by Inslee it still needs to be federally passed. Not falling back an hour in the Fall raises crime rates and car accidents. Studies have shown that 1 hour of sleep actually effects the body in several ways; disrupts sleep schedule, loss of Vitamin D and creates more risk of heart problems.

Last week Jess Roskelley, Spokane native, was presumed dead along with 2 other climbers in the Canadian Rockies trying to climb House Peak. He was 36 years old and a celebrity in the climbing community. A size 3 avalanche took their lives. No avalanche warnings were given during their time in the mountains. A size 3 avalanche can bury cars easily and destroy nature. The Spokane climbing community has reached out to the Roskelley family to help them in anyway they can.
