I spoke with participants of The Cave by Mervyn Peake. This darkly surreal play explores the struggle between a repressive, fearful social order and the forces of total emotional, intellectual and artistic freedom. The one-night-only performance at the Liberty Lake Community Theatre was first time The Cave was performed in the US. Hailey Poutiatine directed and produced the play. Lexi Estes played a main character and Christopher Lamb played another main character and mentored Hailey.
