Playlist for Show: SOS-Spokane

The year 1968 was a watershed in the history of the 20th Century, both domestically and internationally. Today’s show began with short recollections of important events occurring  that year. Artist and educator, Mac MacDevitt, an associate member of the Chicago chapter of Veterans for Peace, then talked about the national touring My Lai massacre exhibit he has helped conceive, build, and curate. Tom Charles, a member of the Spokane chapter of Veterans for Peace was our second guest. Together we delved into a wide range of issues including My Lai, Vietnam’s three-millenial history, America’s Vietnam War, U.S. empire, its imperialist militarism and costs, the American psyche, and the role corporations play in our ongoing machinery of violent confrontation.
