Attention all filmmakers and musicians of the Inland Northwest!
The Bartlett, KYRS, CMTV14, Spokane Arts, Global Credit Union and Purple Crayon Pictures have come together to create Spokane’s first music video competition called Music Video Jams.
The hope is to make this an annual event where filmmakers and musicians are introduced to each other and asked to collaborate on a music video for an original song by the musicians/bands. The video must be completed in two weeks.
To participate filmmakers must submit samples of their work. The sample can be one or two short videos. The videos can be between one to six minutes in length. They do not have to be music videos. DEADLINE FOR ENTERING IS JULY 27TH AT 11:59 PM.
Filmmaker submission form – https://spokanearts.submittable.com/submit/119758/call-for-filmmakers-music-video-jam.
For musicians/bands to participate they must submit two songs as sample of their work to https://spokanearts.submittable.com/submit/119760/call-for-musicians-music-video-jam
From the submissions that meet the July 27th deadline, a panel will select 6 to 8 filmmakers as well as musician/bands. Then on August 1st at CMTV there will be a drawing that creates 6 to 8 teams. At that time the teams will be given all the rules of the competition.
All completed videos will then be judged by a panel of 5 guest judges as well the audience at the final screening September 9th at the Bartlett. Prizes for all the winners!
